This is one of my all time favorite Rumi poems from his Divan-e Shams. By some accounts, Rumi had spontaneously and publicly recited these verses during his son's weeding reception. Rumi is simply at his best in poetically conveying his wedding blessings to the newlyweds. I hope my translation can capture Rumi's intended wedding wishes and his extraordinary poetic celebration of the sacred bond of marriage. Naa wafa ka zikar hoga, naaa wafa ki baat hogi, Ab muhabbat jis se bhi hogi, matlab ke sath hogi, No word of loyalty, no speaking of faithfulness, Who ever shall I love - I shall love in search of gain,

Muhabbat main nahi hai farq jeenay aur marnay ka, Usi ko daikh ker jeetay hain jis kafir per dum niklay, In love, no difference between life and death, By seeing one's killer does one live,
