Kaha tha kis ne ke ahad-e-vafa karo us se ...

Kaha tha kis ne ke ahad-e-vafa karo us se,
Jo yon kiya hai to phir kyon gila karo us se,

Ye kya ke tum hi gam-e-hijr ke fasane kaho,
Kabhi to us ke bahane suna karo us se,

Nasib phir koi taqrib-e-qarb ho ke na ho,
Jo dil main hon vahi batain kiya karo us se,

'Faraz' tark-e-ta'alluq to khair kya hoga,
Yahi bahut hai ke kam kam mila karo us se!

Who said to make a promise of loyalty to them,
If you have made the mistake then why cry to them,

What is this that only you complain of her aloofness,
For once also listen to her meaningless excuses as well,

A plan for making them fall in love, be in mind or not,
Say only that to them which is truly in your heart,

Alas this relationship cannot come to an end Faraz,
It is sufficient that you meet them insufficiently!

Rumi and Confucius

"Despite the fact that Confucius and Rumi were born in different periods and places, both were born at a time of social upheaval and political turmoil. Consequently, both thinkers tried to provide the means for their people to overcome the times of difficulty, first by understanding, cultivating, and realizing their human potentialities, and then by transforming themselves, their families, and their societies. Interestingly, Rumi and Confucius share more in common than most people would think and their teachings are still meaningful and relevant to the modern world. The wisdom of Confucius and Rumi provides todays readers with spiritual resources to overcome the challenges of our time and to build bridges of understanding and dialogue among different cultures and civilizations. This paper examines the core ideas of these two great thinkers and provides anthropocosmic insights into their ideas on nature, family and music."
