Qaid-e-gham-e-hayaat se humko chhudaa liyaa,
Achchha kiya ke aap ne apna banaa liyaa !

Hone diya na hum ne andheraa shab-e-firaaq,
Bujhne laga chiraag to dil ko jalaa liyaa !

Duniyaa ke paas hai koi is tanz ka jawaab ,
Diwaana apne haal pe khud muskuraa liyaa !

Chup hoon tumhaara dard-e-muhabbat liye huye,
Sab poochte hai tum ne zamaane se kyaa liyaa !

Kyaa baat thi ke khalvat-e-zahid ko dekh kar,
Rind-e-gunaahgaar ne sar ko jhukaa diyaa !

Na qaabil-e-bayaan hai muhabbat ki lazzaten,
Kuchh dil hi jaanta hai jo dil ne mazaa liyaa !

Roz-e-azal padi thi hazaaron hi neymatein,
Hum ne kisi ka dard-e-mohabbat utaa liyaa !

Badhne lagi ji talki-e-gham-e-haa-e-zindagi,
Thoda sa baada-e-gham-e-janaan milaa liyaa !

Waqif nahin giraft-e-tasawwur se wo �Shamim�,
Jo ye samajh rahe hain ke daaman chhudaa liya !
